Position Overview: We are seeking a Power BI Data Visualization Specialist to transform complex datasets into compelling, interactive dashboards and reports. This role is primarily focused on data visualization but also requires foundational experience in data modeling and transformation to ensure efficient and scalable reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to translate data into insights that drive strategic decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop high-impact Power BI dashboards and reports that effectively communicate business insights.
• Work with business teams to understand reporting needs and translate them into clear, interactive visualizations.
• Optimize dashboards for performance, usability, and storytelling best practices.
• Perform basic data modeling, transformation, and DAX calculations to support visualization needs.
• Connect to various data sources (SQL, Excel, APIs, cloud platforms) and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to improve data pipelines, governance, and availability.
• Stay updated on Power BI features and best practices, implementing new functionalities where applicable.
• Train and support business users on Power BI best practices and self-service reporting.

Qualifications:

• 5-7+ years of experience in Power BI development with a strong emphasis on data visualization.
• Proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power Query (M Language).
• Experience with DAX functions for calculated measures and custom aggregations.
• Basic understanding of data modeling principles (star schema, relationships, normalization).
• Ability to work with various data sources (SQL, Excel, SharePoint, APIs).
• Strong UI/UX design skills for building intuitive and visually appealing reports.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business needs into data-driven solutions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with SQL for querying and data extraction.
• Knowledge of or exposure to ETL processes and tools such as Power Automate, SSIS, or Azure Data Factory.
• Familiarity with other visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik) is a plus.
• Power BI certification (PL-300 or equivalent) is a plus.
